Latest Events at Sfera's

A lot has been happening at Sfera's...

In addition to some gorgeous weddings we have had here, we have also had a few Corporate Events in our Starlight Ballrooms!

GM Holden transformed our Starlight Ballroom into a car showroom recently. With 5 shiny new Sedan's displayed, there definitely was a new car smell to the room!

Mint room also became the presentation hub for delegates to learn all about the Holden models.

Wedding Planning Tips!

What do couples tend to overlook when planning their wedding reception?

A few key things that couples tend to overlook when planning their wedding reception are usually the smallest details such as:

Scheduling
Our coordinators run through a schedule with you 2 weeks before to ensure everything including food and formalities run smoothly leaving enough time for you to enjoy your night without feeling rushed. Creating a schedule for your day will help you to see on paper how the day will run. It will allow you to advise your suppliers of where they need to be and at what time. You can also give the schedule to your bridal party so there is no confusion on the day. The schedule will help make the wedding run a lot smoother and reduce the stress levels as well.

Confirming Suppliers
We require all your suppliers details as this is one of the most important things to do! You must ring all your  suppliers the week before your wedding. Never assume that they remember everything you told them 6 or 12 months ago, or that they know the time they should be at the church etc. Always reconfirm every detail - the time, location, and services as well as any balances due and how they want to be paid. If a supplier is running late (which usually happens 1 in every 5 weddings) we call them to confirm that they are coming because the last thing you want on your wedding day is having someone call you to tell you that your cake hasn’t arrived. Remember assumption is the mother of all screw ups!

Entertainment

People tend to overlook how important it is to have quality entertainment at their wedding. We have had many cases when clients would prefer to have an iPod as their entertainment instead of a DJ or would like to source their own DJ as it may be a cheaper alternative. However in these cases people tend to forget you get what you pay for. We have had weddings when the client has sourced their own DJ, he has come to set up bringing nothing but a lap top and a speaker. He didn’t have a microphone or any lighting. When it came to introducing the new couple into their reception there was even bigger problems as he was just a DJ and had no idea how to MC. Lucky we had a microphone on hand and one of their guests offered to do the best they could to introduce the new couple in. This is a perfect example as to why quality entertainment is important at you wedding. We have a list of experienced DJ’s & MC’s which we recommend they have at least 20 years experience and have had the proper training and qualifications to make your night memorable!

Happy Planning!!
